Building with Nature Standards Board

Since 2018 I have been Chair of the Buliding with Nature Standards Board. In June 2022 I stood down after steering BwN through a significant refresh of standards and made way for Ian Mell to take the reins. I remain committed to this excellent initiative and will continue as an approved BwN assessor assseiing plans and policies.

Building with Nature Standards Board, has experts from industry and government across the UK, whose role is to be guardians of the standards and review and update them in response to any changes in planning legislation and in the development sector to ensure that the Standards are robust and fit for purpose. Over the period 2020-2021 a major refresh of standards has taken place leading to 12 new standards. BwN is the first UK benchmark for GI and raises the bar for both built developments and plans.
